Auction/Swap Meet 9/25/10

8th Annual Swap Meet and Car Corral

Despite the weatherman’s week-long prediction of rain, Saturday turned out to be the nicest day of the spring with temperatures reaching the low 80s and the sun shining all day long! That beautiful weather brought out droves of folks—some wanting to sell parts they no longer needed, some wanting to sell a classic vehicle, and some just wanting to show off their classic car or truck. These were joined by a throng of spectators, several of whom drove off in newly acquired classics, many leaving with some new treasure that they found for their existing classic car/truck, and all enjoying a wonderful day with lots to see and eat. The crowd was so large that Famous Dave’s Barbeque was kept hopping all day serving up piping hot sandwiches to a ravenous group of car enthusiasts. Our three parking lots were filled to capacity, with the overflow filling the lots of our neighbors: the Food Bank and the Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy—both of which had kindly consented to accommodate the need for parking by our visitors.

Please enjoy (and try to find yourself in) the following photos from this year’s event:
