Outstanding from Top to Bottom
- Paint and Body
The quality of the re-spray of this hardtop convertible in Raven Black and White makes you think you’re in the showroom at the Ford dealership back in 1959. The body is straight and the panel gaps are correct.
The chrome and stainless trim is all in very nice condition, setting off the elegance of the black car.
The underside of this Skyliner is unusually clean.
- Interior
The red/black/silver interior is clean and fresh-looking, and contrasts nicely with the black and white exterior.
The headliner looks as new.
The gauges, supplemented by some aftermarket additions, work properly as do the lights, wipers and horn. The speedometer and turn signals likewise work properly.
- Retractable Hardtop
The electrically-controlled raising and lowering mechanism is totally automatic from the unlocking mechanism at the windshield until the top is completely stowed beneath the trunk lid. Per our video, this one works correctly.
- Engine
The replacement V-8 cylinder engine rests in a fully detailed engine compartment. At the turn of the key the engine comes to life and runs properly.
- Transmission
The car’s 3-speed manual transmission (3-on-a-tree) works smoothly and properly.
- Brakes
The brakes on the Ford bring it to a safe stop without any pulling from side to side.
