1957 Thunderbird – Restored
Introducing the 1957 Thunderbird:
The Best of an Era
This remarkable Thunderbird is one of the finest examples of the 1957 T-bird you’ll ever see. Restored to perfection in the mid-1990s by the acclaimed restorer of “Baby Birds” – Jewels Body Shop, this car has been carefully maintained by its owners ever since. With its stunning looks and exceptional quality, it would be at home in a museum or on the show field, but it has been cherished and enjoyed by a dedicated collector.
A Beautiful Restoration
The car’s finish is Thunderbird Bronze, a striking color that perfectly complements the contrasting tan convertible top. The quality of the paint is exceptional, with no flaws that detract from the car’s beauty. The interior is in pristine condition, with Colonial White upholstery and matching floor mats. The Tan convertible top is also in excellent condition, with a clear, undamaged rear window.
This Thunderbird is powered by the Thunderbird 312 cid V-8, which was introduced in 1956 and became the standard engine for the 1957 model year. The engine bay looks as clean and bright as it did when the car left the showroom floor in 1957. The Ford-O-Matic transmission shifts smoothly, making it easy to enjoy the car’s exceptional handling and performance.
Safety and Luxury Equipment
All of the safety equipment, such as lights, signals, horn, and wipers, are in excellent working order. The gauges, warning lights, tachometer, and speedometer all function properly. The car also features Swift Sure Ford power brakes, a telescoping steering wheel, Ford’s Volumatic Signal Seek Radio, and an original clock. Seat belts have been installed for additional safety.
Records covering the 23 years of the current owner’s stewardship are available, as well as a copy of the original sales sheet and pictures from the car’s restoration.
Back to the ’50s in Style
The Thunderbird was created to be a luxurious, personal vehicle, perfect for trips to the country club, a Saturday night dinner, or even the grocery store. The ’57 T-bird is considered by many to be the crown jewel of the series, and there is no better example than this one. Whether you want to take it on tour or use it for local jaunts, this car is sure to impress.
