1930 Model A Rumble Seat Roadster

This Ford Model A reminds us of why these cars were—and are—so popular. After 86 years this Rumble Seat Roadster runs like it did when new: starts right up and moves down the road with grace. Put the top down and some grandkids in the rumble seat and it’s the most fun you—or they—have had in ages!

A Great Car

This 1930 Model A has been the owners’ pride and joy:

    • Dependable straight 4 cylinder engine;
    • Manual 3-speed transmission
    • Complete repaint in Gray and Black;
    • Nice interior;
    • Rear trunk holder with very nice travel trunk;
    • Starts at the press of the starter; and
    • Stops straight and true.

Nice from Top to Bottom

  • Paint and Body

The re-spray of this Packard in Gray and Black makes it look fresh and clean.

The chrome trim is all in nice condition, setting off the character of this roadster.

The top (see pictures) will require a bit of mending, but it is serviceable. The rear window is clear and can be put down for bad weather or left up for daily driving. The car also has side curtains.

And, this Model A has the rear luggage carrier and a travel trunk in very nice condition to hold your picnic lunch!!

  • Interior

The brown interior is clean and fresh-looking, and as one would expect, the upholstery is free of rips, holes or separations. The upholstery in the rumble seat is also in good condition, as is the painted dash.

The lights, wipers and horn work properly. The speedometer is also working.

  • Engine

The Ford in-line 4 cylinder engine, known for their dependability, starts right up and runs properly. At the touch of the starter the engine comes to life and is ready for use. The exhaust manifold leaks a bit and should, at some point, be resurfaced.

  • Transmission

The manual, transmission has the floor-mounted shifter with 3 forward speeds plus reverse that works well.

  • Brakes

The brakes on the Model A bring it to a halt without pulling from side to side.

A Nice Example of one of Ford’s Most Popular Models

There is one word that can best describe this 1930 Model A: FUN! Drop the top, load up the kids and head for the ice cream shop or burger joint. Not only will you be the hit of the parking lot but you won’t be able to get the grin off you and the kids’ faces. This roadster truly allows you to take a step back to those days when Henry Ford introduced us to a new era in affordable and dependable transportation. Come to our showroom and see a nice example of that era.
